- How to interchange a Boxcar Lens
Lenses are interchangeable, Holding the arms near the hinge, rotate upward to remove them. To reattach, you hook the top of the arm into the lens, then rotate the arm downwards. Easy to do, but hard to describe so have a look at our videos for more details. We’ve designed them for that perfect tension that holds, but can also release as needed (such as if they get squashed in your bag, they won’t break).
Email me and I’ll add a video. Cheers, JB
- How do I attach the foam pads from the sticker pack?
Sticker pack of foam pads provides more wind protection and can customized for you. For most faces, we suggest adding the center brow pad if the lens makes contact your brow to avoid sweat and oil. You can apply the others to the inside edge as you see fit.
Foam Sticker Pack
You can customize as you need but here are some suggestions. The foam pads are deigned to match the shape of the gasket that holds the double lens. Attach to regions you wish to have more protection. Before peeling off just have a check that the shape matches. Peeling off part of the sticker backing helps in alignment. Extra pads are included so you can double the layer but adding on top of the base foam pad for more coverage.
Brow: To ensure oil and sweat doesn’t get on the lens we always suggest at least the center brow pad added. For greater protection the entire top layer of the brow to the arms is great.
Cheeks: The curved shape contours to the lens shape. This spot is often where a two layers of foam padding creates excellent protection. The small hyphen shapes can be added to the inside of the arms at the temples.
Nose: Smaller curved pieces match the curve of the lens to the nose pads.
Extra pads: To enable customized fit for your face. Stack foam pads for more protection.
Side Shields: Slide on over arms. We’re working on molded side shields but wanted to include something without additional costs.
- How does photochromic work?
Photochromic lenses are awesome. When exposed to UV light they turn darker. More UV the darker they go, almost as dark as our usual smoke grey lenses! When there’s no UV they are virtually clear. That means you can start early, in the dark, have great protection and continue to have amazing views when the sun comes out (or even if cloudy, there’s still UV light to turn them darker).
- What's with the FOGOFF Lens?
The #FOGOFF lens is what makes our glasses max antifog, anything beyond requires electronics. We took what works in ski goggles and double paned windows and put it in large wrapping eyewear. We still use the hydrophobic coatings but like all coatings they will eventually wear off. The insulation layer created is what provide reliable and durable protection from condensation. The double lens does need to be cared for so only clean with microfiber cloth, watch out for debris that might scratch, avoid over heating or submerging. When cleaning giving a gentle squeeze around the perimeter will ensure the foam gasket continues to provide that insulation seal.
